福井のR壁

北海道に建つ築40年の住宅を改修したリノベーションである。既存の外形を維持し、断熱ラインを変えずに、内部プランの再構成と断熱・構造補強を行った。
暖房には薪ストーブを採用し、壁内ペチカを通して暖気を循環させるシステムとしている。建物の高低差を利用して空気を循環させるため、上下階を貫く大きな吹き抜けを設けた。吹き抜けを舐めるように立ち上がる白いR壁は、ハイサイドライトからの光を柔らかく拡散する。
この吹き抜けをもつ空間を「空白」と呼ぶ。平面上では南の広間と北の小間のあいだに位置し、両者を分けながらもつなぐ曖昧な領域となっている。南の広間は庭に面し、椅子で過ごす活動的な空間であるのに対し、北の小間は地窓を備え、低い天井とカーペットの上で座してくつろぐ静かな場となる。異なる性質をもつ二つの空間の間に「空白」が介在することで、住まいの内部にゆるやかな関係性が生まれている。

This project is a renovation of a 40-year-old house in Hokkaido. The existing exterior form and insulation line were retained while reorganizing the interior layout and reinforcing both insulation and structure.
A wood-burning stove provides heat, circulating warm air through a wall-integrated masonry system. To promote natural air movement through height differences, a large void connects the two floors. Along this void, a white curved wall softly diffuses the light from the high-side windows.
This space with the void is referred to as “the blank.” Situated between the southern “large room” and the northern “small room,” it serves as an ambiguous zone that both separates and connects them. While the southern room faces the garden and supports an active, chair-based lifestyle, the northern one—lower in ceiling and equipped with a ground-level window—invites quiet, floor-seated relaxation. Between these contrasting zones, the blank creates a gentle continuity within the house.
