アーティストの滞在型アートギャラリーです。地域の人たちが集まる公民館的な機能も持ちます。積雪の多い地域の為、切妻屋根が雪を落として構造的な過重負荷を軽減しています。ギャラリー部分は天井がとても高く、そして平面的には細長いプロポーションで、路地のようにクネクネとつながっています。先が見えない事によってどこまでも続く長い路地のようにも見える、開放的なギャラリーです。

“path house”

“Path House” is an artist-in-residence gallery that also functions as a small community center where local people can gather.
Because it is located in a region with heavy snowfall, the building is designed with a gable roof that sheds snow naturally, reducing the structural load.

The gallery space features a very high ceiling and a long, narrow floor plan that meanders like an alley.
This gently winding spatial sequence, where the end is never quite visible, creates the illusion of a long, continuous path — an open and expansive gallery that seems to extend without end.
